Sally Roberts dreamt up Somerville Scarves in 2007. As a mum at home with two very young children, she wanted to make her way back into the working world, she had previously worked as a TV documentary maker. Having always had a passion (and a weakness) for silk scarves, she had a go at designing some herself. She realised that, like her, many women wanted well-made silk scarves without the expense of a trip to Sloane Street or Milan!
Since she started the business on her kitchen table, it has gone from strength to strength. She draws inspiration from her own vintage collection to create a range of gorgeous silk and fine wool hand screen printed scarves that appeals to all ages.
